About Crazy Cool Geek
It used to be that being a “Geek” was a “Bad Thing.” It used to be that Geeks (sometimes known as The Nerds) were the highly intelligent, but socially outcast unclique in High School. Think Glasses. Think Pocket Protector. And think white button down short sleeved shirt with one part not tucked in. That’s how it USED to be… until Bill Gates began to rule the world and bring respect to the name Geek.
Forward 20 something years and a Geek is no longer the thing it used to be. According to Wikipedia, in a 2007 interview on The Colbert Report, Richard Clarke said the difference between nerds and geeks is “geeks get it done.” Today being a geek is a proud badge of honor worn when someone is hyper-focused on knowing all they can about a topic and getting it done. Thus, this blog. I’m a Geek. I’m a Geek about being a Dad. I’m a Geek about technology. I’m completely committed and addicted to technology that helps me get the job done. In addition I’m known as a Marketing Tools Expert, Totally a Twitter Ninja and a Mortgage Software and HomeTech Guru.
If he were alive today, Leonardi DiVinci would probably be diagnosed with ADD. Botanist, chemist, artist, writer, inventor and many other things, he was the ultimate Geek. While I don’t even consider myself in the same ball league of brilliance as this amazing man of history, I do consider myself a kindred spirit across the ages. Like Leo, I see many things in life that are interconnected, totally related, and worth pursuing with passion simultaneously. That’s what this blog is about.
Yeah, yeah, I know the whole thing about focus. But let me ask you. “Are you one thing?” Are you single dimensional or are you a Geek in some area. You are probably a Geek without knowing it. Geeks come in all shapes, interests and forms. Fashion Geeks, Wine Geek, Sports Geek, Fish Geek, Food Geek, Garden Geek, God Geek, Yoga Geek, Book Geek… well, you get the point. I don’t want to be a Jack of All Trades… instead, I intend to be a Master of Many!
Through this blog I’m going to be the Geek that I am and connect with others that share my passions, or need the type of information I can provide. So, if you are a fellow Geek, welcome! If you aren’t a Geek in the areas that I blog about, but find this blog helpful, weeeelcome to you too!
You may be asking, who is the man behind Crazy Cool Geek? Well, for now, that remains anonymous. I want to be totally free to be Crazy and Cool with this blog in a way that I’ve never been before. And with employers trying to find every reason to fire their employees, or not hire them, I don’t want one Google Search to be the distance between me an a pink slip or a declined offer. So, for now, we’ll both be happier to have my unrestricted, unrelenting and sometimes completely crazy view on the things I consider worthy of Geekiness.
Welcome to my journey of Crazy Cool Geek.
